All In The Family
Me and Him
I am a middle-aged wife, mother and grandmother. However, that simple statement doesn't even begin to cover my life experiences. I'll be nice and spare you the details (hee hee). I am a @*#$&^)-something Leo with two primary passions - my husband and computers. (Well, okay... four including genealogy and gardening.) Since his two primary passions are me and computers, we get along beautifully! Between the two of us we have three children, six grandchildren, a dog, and a cat.
Brad is my second and last husband. I got lucky the second time around! We met online in 1999 and I think it's a very romantic story. Click on our link to get the whole story and experience our wedding.
Our Children
It doesn't seem quite right to call them children since they are both adults now. I have one of each, a daughter, Becky, and a son, Jesse. Becky is a single mom with two children of her own. Jesse is married to his high school sweetheart and they have two sons. To learn more about them and to see pictures just click on their links. If I've done it right, the pictures should embarrass them (I'm so bad...).
Brad has one daughter, Nancy. Sadly, they lost contact with each other after Brad moved back to the Bay Area. She did spend one year with him in the Bay Area when she was quite young and when she was 12 she spent a bit of time with her Dad. She was living in Texas with her mother and when we tried to call her in 1999 about our wedding, the number was disconnected with no forwarding. Then in 2005, I got an email and... Well you will just have to check out her page!
Our Grandkids
We have seven grandchildren. Becky's daughter, Beth, is our only granddaughter. Becky also has one son, Jesse has two sons and Nancy has two-and-a-half sons. They are all beautiful children (but then I could be biased) and they all have a page here dedicated to them. Be sure to check out the photo gallery as well. I mean, have you ever known a grandmother without pictures of her grandkids?
Our Critters
When I met Brad, it was a case of love me, love my dog. Dave was half black lab, half border collie with all of the lab personality and the border collie smarts. It really was rather like living with a two-year-old! By the time we were planning our move to Maine Dave was 14 years old and we weren't sure if he would make the trip. Sadly, he didn't.
We decided to wait until we were settled in our new house in Maine before finding new critters to adopt. We ended up getting a cat first after I found out that I wasn't allergic to just one cat. She was a calico I named Jennyanydots and I was plainly her human. A few months later Brad found a dog. He wanted a smaller dog this time for maximum lap time. Carmen is a chihuahua / dachshund hybrid (a designer hybrid, if you can believe it!) and is the quintessential lap dog. If his lap isn't available, mine will do, but she is very much a "daddy's girl." He moves and so does she.
A year and a half later, we lost Jennyanydots. She had developed feline infectious peritonitis and it is nearly always fatal. By the time I realized the Jenny was really, really sick she had an abdomen full of fluid. It was so hard to say goodbye to her. Last April, I adopted another cat I named Keira. "Keira" means "little black one." Can you guess what color she is?
